Checking Site Security in Ulaa

To quickly check a website's security and privacy status on Ulaa across different devices, follow the steps given below :

On Desktop 

1. Open Ulaa and go to any website.
2. To check the security of the site, look at the icon next to the web address:
  1. Default (Secure) Secure (Default): Your connection is private.
  2. ⓘ Info or Not Secure: The site is not secure. Your data could be at risk.
  3. ⚠️  Not Secure or Dangerous: Avoid entering personal info. The site may not be safe.
3. To learn more about the site's privacy, cookies, and settings, click on the icon next to the URL.

NotesIf you want Ulaa to warn you when a site isn’t secure, turn on Always use secure connections. This will show a warning if a site doesn’t support HTTPS.

Android

1. Open Ulaa and visit a website.
2. Check the security of the site by looking at the icon to the left of the web address:
  1. Default (Secure) Secure (Default)
  2. ⓘ Info or Not Secure
  3. ⚠️  Not Secure or Dangerous
3. For more details, click on the icon to see privacy, cookies, site data, and more.

iOS / iPad  

  1. Open Ulaa and visit a website.
  2. Tap More > Site Information to check the site’s security.
  3. To learn more about the site’s connection, tap Connection.

What the Security Icons Mean:

Default (Secure) Secure (Default): Your connection is private.
ⓘ Info or Not Secure: Your data could be exposed. Proceed with caution.
⚠️ Not Secure or Dangerous: Do not enter personal info. Avoid the site if possible. It may be harmful.

Resolve security and connection issues

If you get a full-page error message saying "Your connection is not private," then there's a problem with the site, the network, or your device. If you go to a website and get an error, try these troubleshooting steps first:

Manage certificates

Ulaa authenticates and secures HTTPS connections with website certificates. These certificates encrypt the link between a site and your browser. Ulaa will add custom root certificates from the certificates used by your computer's operating system. To review the certificates on your device:
  1. On your computer, open Ulaa.
  2. At the top right, click the hamburger icon (☰) > Preferences.
  3. On the left, choose Privacy and Security > Security.
  4. Select Manage certificates.
