How to Use Web Apps in Ulaa

A web app is an app built for the web that you can access on any device. You can use web apps to make a website work like an app and access it on your computer or mobile devices through the launcher or home screen. Some web apps include extra features such as offline storage, notifications, file system access, and icon badges.

Notes
Although web apps can work offline, some features may still require an internet connection.

How to Install a Web App

  1. On your computer, open Ulaa.
  2. Go to the website you want to install.
  3. At the top right, select More.
  4. Select Cast, save, and share.
  5. Select Install page as app…
(or)
  1. On supported websites, select Install in the address bar.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the web app.
Notes
Some apps offer shortcuts to features. To see available shortcuts, right-click the web app icon on the taskbar.

How to Uninstall a Web App

  1. On your computer, open Ulaa.
  2. Open the web app you want to uninstall.
  3. At the top right, select More.
  4. Select Uninstall [app name].
  5. Select Remove.

To delete app data from Ulaa, select Also delete data from Ulaa.

You can also manage web apps through: ulaa://apps

How to Create Shortcuts for Apps

If you're on Windows, Mac, or Linux, you can create shortcuts to open apps faster. You can place these shortcuts on your desktop or menus.
  1. Open a new tab and go to: ulaa://apps
  2. Right-click the app you want.
  3. Select Create shortcut.
  4. Choose where you want the shortcut to appear.
  5. Select Create.

How to Launch Apps Automatically at Startup

You can set apps to launch automatically when you sign in to Windows, Mac, or Linux.
  1. Go to: ulaa://apps
  2. Right-click an app (for example, Google Maps).
  3. Select Launch at startup.
Notes
To disable this feature, right-click the app and deselect Launch at startup.

How to Manage Web App Settings

  1. Open the web app from your desktop or launcher.
  2. At the top right, select More.
  3. Select App info > Settings.
  4. Select the setting you want to update.
